DAY 1°

Arrival at the hotel,  meeting with the guides and dinner.

The Hotel Alisei*** is located in the centre of Lignano Pineta, in a lush area where you can relax and recharge after a day of cycling. The friendly welcome of the sta , the attention paid to the catering and to the details, will all be waiting for you at this cosy location, where the energy of the sea meets the genuineness of this Friulian land.

Services o ered: rooms can be single or can accommodate up to four people, onsite restaurant with sportly menu personalized, park, swimming pool, wi , bike depository and bike washing facilities, laundry service, a small mechanic’s shop or nearby mechanic, snacks and lunch boxes on request, pet friendly, accessible rooms and private car parking.

DAY 2°

LAGUNA BIKE:  HISTORY, WOODS AND NATURE

A tour on the water may make you laugh, but it’s true! On our motorboat “Pinta” you will cycle across the Marano Lagoon and penetrate into the heart of the Friulian coastline, crossing woods and vineyards, coming across country churches and other hidden gems.

Departure from the hotel. We cross through the seaside village to enter the unpaved cycling path along the lagoon to the old dock.

We set sail on the “Pinta” for an excursion in the lagoon and in the Natural Reserve located at the mouth of the Stella River. Navigation will last about 45 minutes.

There will be a visit to the shermen’s quarters.

Stop o at the “Bilancia di Bepi” or “Bepi’s Scale” to learn about historical and traditional shing methods in the lagoon.

We begin our cycling route to reach Marano Lagunare. The length of the route is about 22 kilometres on the plain and on dirt roads. During this journey we will cross through the Selva Arvonchi, one of the last woods in the Lower Friulian plains.

Arrival at Marano Lagunare where there will be organised a pic-nic, made by Friulian local products.

Departure by motorboat and return to Lignano around 1:30 p.m.

DAY 3°

LAGUNA BIKE: PEDALLING IN HISTORY

Departure from the hotel. We cross through the seaside village to enter the unpaved cycling path along the lagoon to the old dock.

We set sail on the “Pinta” for an excursion in the lagoon towards the mouth of the Cormor River, where we can admire the typical living quarters of the shermen. Navigation along the lagoon to the mouth of the Ausa River.

We begin our cycle route to reach Aquileia, UNESCO site where we can perceive the echo of an epoch of Roman splendour. There will be time for a visit to the archaeological site and the Romanesque basilica.

A light lunch break with a Friulian pic-nic, composed of products from our territory.

We will proceed northbound on the Alpe Adria cycleway to reach Cervignano del Friuli.

We turn westbound in order to cross the small quaint boroughs of Lower Friuli: Torviscosa, a centre rich with archaeological industrial landmarks and then Malisana, Villanova, Porto Nogaro, Carlino until we reach Marano Lagunare

The lagoon borough of Marano Lagunare is a gem that is worth the visit in order to savour the charm of the ancient traditions and rural history of this tiny world, located between the sea and the land.

The return to Lignano from Marano can be done independently by bike (an extra 35 kilometres), by motorboat (Pinta) or by bus.
