FVG bike Alpe Adria 3 days

The Alpe Adria cycleway is the spectacular route that links Salzburg to Grado, through a series of simple legs to take on, which are extraordinary from a naturalistic and panoramic point of view.

You will travel from the wilds of our mountains and valleys, through the moraine hills and many historical gems and traditions of our region, to the golden beaches of Grado. Many times this cycleway received an award for being one of the best cycling path in Europe. Here we o er two transfers, as examples among the most beautiful ones.



DAY 1°

Arrival at the hotel,  meeting with the guides and dinner.

The Hotel Friuli*** is located in Udine, exactly in the middle of our Italian itinerary. His soul is devoted to sport, as it is a reference point for many sporting events hosted by the city of Udine. The hotel o ers our traveller on two wheels all the necessary services for his/her stay and maintenance. The starting points of our itineraries will be reached through our exclusive connection service.

Hotel Services: rooms can be single or can accommodate up to four people, onsite restaurant, with sportly menu personalized, bike depository, bike washing facilities, laundry service, wi , a small mechanic’s shop or nearby mechanic, snacks and lunch boxes on request, pet friendly, accessible rooms and private car parking.

DAY 2°

TARVISIO-RESIUTTA

Transfer by van from Udine to Tarvisio, renowned for its winter sports, and which retains an ancient spirit; it is immersed in a fabulous naturalistic environment, and it is the ideal starting point for trekking in the surrounding mountains. We will continue through its centre on a special route to Camporosso, we will then reach the gates of Valbruna, proceeding to Ugovizza and then to Malborghetto, an elegant centre with numerous historical landmarks. It will be possible to visit an important ethnographical museum at the Palazzo Veneziano. At the level of Bagni di Lusnizza, an old railway bridge conduces to the other bank of the Fella River. We descend towards Pontebba, the main centre of the Valcanale, from which many paths branch o in order to explore the mountain valleys. The cycling path that follows the old railway line is taken once again at Pietratagliata and we proceed among bridges and galleries, crossing through one of the most charming points of our entire route. We continue to Dogna, at the entrance of the valley which bears the same name. We proceed to Casasola and Villanova until we reach Chiusaforte. Stop o at Chiusaforte for lunch at the old station. We will continue through the evocative iron bridge that crosses the Fella. We will admire the banks of the Fella River, immersed in an enchanting landscape surrounded by fairy-tale rocky mountains and bucolic nature. The Fella ows into the Tagliamento, the most important river in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with its 170-kilometre length and a basin that is almost 3000 square kilometres wide. Arrival in Resiutta. Return to Udine by van.

DAY 3°

AQUILEIA - CONA ISLAND NATURAL RESERVE

Transfer by bus from Udine to Aquileia, a UNESCO site where you can perceive the echo of an epoch of Roman splendour. There will be time for a visit to the archaeological site and the Romanesque basilica.

The itinerary begins by bike using the Alpe-Adria cycling path directed towards Grado.

There will be a stop o at this beach locality for a visit of its historical centre, with its lanes and evocative small squares in venetian style. Our trip continues.

We will cross through the Natural Reserve of Valle Cavanata, internationally renowned for its aquatic bird habitat. During the way we can pause to observe the countless species present, which enter into this grove of reeds, typical of the area. Arrival at the visitors’ observation centre of Caneo.

Once again we depart, this time to the island of Cona, a truly charming natural reserve characterised by a high degree of biological diversity. Take all the time you need to discover roe deer, foxes, Camargue horses, in addition to numerous species of birds that populate the entire area.

Before the visit there will be a tasty pic-nic of local products set up just for you at the visitors’ centre.

We will arrive in Udine by bus in the late afternoon.
